What are some amazing places throughout California?
A couple of friends and I are going to travel on the road for about a month this summer throughout California, but I can not think of anything that would be the climax. I live in California so I had the opportunity to see Yosemite and other places. But we want to find something that is like a jewel that the average person does not know. We also want to hike! All recommendations would be super!
If you want to find a jewel, you will fall on it or who have (or) you are yourself. If anyone knows one and put it here then it will be ... something that everybody knows. There are beaches in northern California that allow camping, you can try. You can try the wine country during a time. If you go waaay northern end of California, things may be more isolated and may try something like rafting. The desert and the valley Death may be useful worthwhile. You can also try some of the ski resorts in summer (the Mammoth, Tahoe, Big Bear). If you have time and transport may also slightly eastward to Nevada / Las Vegas, Arizona / Grand Canyon, etc. They could be states, but the distances are comparable to the conduct California. If for a "jewel" always thinking of small towns on Route 66 and so on, but most things are "unbelievable" are already in the guides here and there - the main question is whether it can capture at an unusual time of year, you'll notice how California is having serious financial trouble right now, and some cities more than others, you can find many public lands and facilities closed or limited hours, many businesses closed, some roads are not maintained as usual, unpredictable prices, etc. Be prepared to be flexible, so it could be a "gem" before not now. California in poor condition, and some cities have begun the dramatic changes that will almost certainly change the visitor experience of what they were before. This could mean better rates and less people in some places, but it is almost certain in the sense of disappointment in others.
