how much milk a day is enough to keep the baby healthy if formula feeding regular meals?

I can not make enough milk have decided to feed my baby formula, but I think he needs a bit of breast milk per day, Does anyone know if there is a certain amount of milk per day, which will keep your child safe and protected if their food is dormula to gain weight? or that the baby should be fed exclusively on breast milk for profit?
